AIMMA ELECTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND OFFICERS
Organization’s New Leadership Named at
Long Beach CA Meeting
OCTOBER 23, 2006 ---
BEDFORD HILLS, NY --- The American Independent Media Manufacturers
Association (AIMMA) has announced a new slate of board members and
officers. The new leadership was elected at the group’s recent meetings
held October 9 and 10 in Long Beach CA.
Founded in 1987 as
the AVDA, AIMMA is a senior executive-level organization of media
manufacturing owners and operators. Membership is open to all North
American media manufacturers regardless of size or medium manufactured.
The association meets twice a year, and its recent event was held in
conjunction with the MediaTech Showcase.
The AIMMA meeting
agenda included educational sessions focused on business strategies, new
technologies and best practices. A combination of invited speakers,
members and member panel discussions covered a variety of topics
including PEOs, disc quality, next-generation high definition formats,
and licensing issues. Presentations were also made by the event’s
hospitality sponsors, GE Plastics, M2 and Polyline.
"Our recent AIMMA meeting in Long Beach
was excellent. The entire atmosphere was positive about the future of
recorded media and the future of the AIMMA. Based upon discussions held
at this meeting, this group will be doing some exciting, forward
thinking things in the next year that will have a great impact on our
industry,” reported Jad Porter, outgoing president of AIMMA.
Three new board members were elected and
officers named. New board members Melodie Gee of Inoveris, Patrick
Reagan of Video Services Group and Mary Reeves of Spinergy will join
serving members Doug Franzen of Evatone and Bill Dudley of Immodicus.
The board elected
the following officers:
President: Ray Zerrusen, OEM
Vice President: Melodie Gee, Inoveris
Vice President for
Membership: Bill Dudley, Immodicus
Secretary: Michael
Weiss, Video Labs Corporation
Treasurer:
Joseph Barber, Cinemagnetics
Mike Baker of
Syncronicity will assume the position of Treasurer effective January
2007, replacing Mr. Barber who has served as the association’s treasurer
for seventeen years. Jad Porter of Design Video Communications had
previously served as AIMMA President in 2006 and will continue on the
board for one year.
AIMMA member
companies comprise the majority of the non-theatrical replication and
duplication capacity in the North American market. The organization was
established to advance the interests of the media manufacturing industry
and its members through collective advocacy, education and networking.
All members are required to be in compliance with and not violate
licensing, intellectual property rights and intellectual property laws
applicable to their business.
The next AIMMA meeting will be held
May 16-17 2007 in Long Beach. For additional information about AIMMA,
