AIMMA Elects New Board Members and Officers

NOVEMBER 12, 2007 --- BEDFORD HILLS, NY --- The American Independent Media Manufacturers Association (AIMMA) has announced a new slate of board members and officers. The new leadership was elected at the group’s recent meetings held November 2 & 3 in Charleston, SC.

Founded in 1987 as the AVDA, AIMMA is a senior executive-level organization of independent media manufacturing owners and operators. All members manufacture media, with replicators, duplicators and mastering facilities represented. Membership is open to all North American media manufacturers regardless of size or medium manufactured. To qualify for membership, companies must document that they are in compliance with and not violate licensing, intellectual property rights and intellectual property laws applicable to their business.

Three new board members were elected and officers named. New board members Mike Taylor of Action Duplication, Jad Porter of Design Video Communications and Mary Reeves of Spinergy will join serving members Ray Zerrusen of OEM, Pat Reagan of VSG, Bill Dudley of Immodicus and Melodie Gee of Zomax.

The board elected the following officers:

President: Melodie Gee, Zomax

Vice President: Mary Reeves, Spinergy

Vice President for Membership: Bill Dudley, Immodicus

Secretary: Michael Weiss, Video Labs Corporation

Treasurer: Tom Whitworth, Synchronicity Mastering Services

The AIMMA meeting agenda included the association’s business meeting, a facilitator-led interactive association direction and initiatives workshop, and presentations made by the event’s hospitality sponsors, Carthaplas, Sefar Printing and Oerlikon.

"Our recent AIMMA meeting in Charleston is indicative of the nature of this association.  As a group, AIMMA is always searching to be relevant for our members. Planning sessions held at this meeting to define future organizational direction allowed us to develop actionable initiatives that all members had the opportunity to participate in creating and will work on together,” reported Melodie Gee, president of AIMMA.

AIMMA member companies comprise the majority of the non-theatrical replication and duplication capacity in the North American market. The organization was established to advance the interests of the media manufacturing industry and its members through collective advocacy, education and networking. Association meeting are held twice yearly, with the primary focus being discussion of issues of common concern for replicators and duplicators.
